The commune of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre belongs to the canton of Diekirch and is an integral part of the "Nordstad" urban area, which is set to become the new capital of the north of the country. It comprises three towns: Erpeldange-sur-Sûre, Ingeldorf and Burden.
